Notes

Having looked at these conferences and their papers, tutorials, keynotes, etc, they do not seem an appropriate route for disseminating our work. The emphasis in the conferences is on the web and creating sense of its contents through folksonomies and ontologies. The work in these conferences has a different starting point to our won because their data is born digital (whether xml, html, rdf or whatever) and so relatively clean. Further, it often includes some form of explicit metadata. The issues discussed at these conference are mainly related to how best to merge the disparate forms of metadata and how to enhance it further through exploitation of any implicit metadata present in the web source. I could find little that relates to our work, and even that was rather tangential.
